Pat - our Poet Laureate

Pat Ingoldsby isn't a national treasure. He's more important than that. You put treasures in a museum and admire their static quality. Pat is dynamic. Alive like his poety.

If you're around Dublin buy one of his books. And read it. Its the story our our city and ourselves in ways that Yeats could never hope to be.

Theory

From an online dictionary

2. Abstract reasoning; speculation. 3. A belief that guides action or assists comprehension or judgment: rose early, on the theory that morning efforts are best; the modern architectural theory that less is more. 4. An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.

Think about the definition listed 3. "A belief.... " apropos of what or based on what.

If blogging is so useful why am I not doing more of it

Going to talk on Thursday night and Friday night to my MBA classes on Networks and The Internet. The question I may be asked is "why if blogging is so useful why am I not doing more of it?" and you know what I don't have a good answer for that.

And its not even a case of must do better. Its a case of must do some.

Man forged manacles of the mind

Quote from blake on BBC2 this evening

"mind-forg'd manacles"

somehow I remembered it as
the man forged manacles of the mind

It sounds like Zen. It reflects cognitive psychology. Truth in poetry.
