Sarah is starting to get cranky

Sarah is starting to get cranky

I can't blame her.

I did say
I’ve had a few letters in the Irish Times that have drawn the green ink brigade. The real problem is you’re challanging people sense of self. And people react very badly to that. Its the valley of the peeping windows version of the taliban, a tongue lashing rather than a physical lashing but the intent is the same. They’ll not forgive you for raising the akward questions. And you have asked and answered some very akward questions. I think that example of integrity will be more important to you and your kids than the rote palatitudes of much of what passes for believers. I’m in danger of going on a rant so I’ll shut up. Maybe we should start a group. “We don’t believe and we don’t care” :-)
and also noted from just saw this in Pat Ingoldsby’s new book ‘can I get in the bath’
Conversion
Love the same God as me or I’ll kill you.
O.K!

And then noted from Peter Cochranes site (one of his presentations) that his son commented on Socrates
He cared for people
He helped people
He taught people
He asked important questions
He proposed good solutions
He always told the truth
So they killed him!
Hell they nailed Jesus to a cross for saying the radical thing of love one another.

Heard on the radio that a man was arrested with an AK-47 in Camden Street last night. WTF! Where does he think he is Limerick?

Christmas Lights and Brass Monkey's

The weather has turned brass monkey like.

Its cold.

Its dark.

Last weekend the misery was pilled on by the rain. Finally the Christmas lights seem like a really good idea. They've changed the lights in Grafton street. At first seen not turned on I was annoyed. I loved the big green lush bands that hung across the street. Now the were skinny white lights. Turned on they were nice. The lights in Wicklow Street are lovely. Those in the IFSC on the Trees by the river are blue. OK so blue lights were everywhere last year. Well they're shite. Blue is not a colour for food or Chrismas lights. Those on the side of CHQ in the IFSC are so much better. At least they cheer up the depths of winter a bit.

This article struck a cord. Specifically item 9. More specifically dealing with people in India and Ireland and the US. Hey its business. Hey its screwed up. Mostly. I shall not rant. I shall not rant. I shall not rant.

Dermot

The usual joke. So much time. So little to do. Think its more important to do less. Stuff. Generally. No more must do. Only do. Or not do. Bloody hell. I'm channelling Yoda. "Do, or do not. There is no 'try".  Now if I only had his cane. Yoda and House.

What is it with the cleaning schedule in toilets. You know the one that says the toilet has been inspected and cleaned every day, hour, minute. In a toilet today. And I was looking at this sheet. Neatly filled in for Monday and Tuesday. Every hour of the day the coffee shop was open. In the same colour pen and the exact same signature. And nothing filled in for Wednesday (yesterday) or Thursday (today). So if I go back tomorrow will it all be filled in for Wednesday and Thursday?
